Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) Clinic
This year the clinics are being held at Birch Bay Ranch on:
JUNE 26-30, 2012
The Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) has received worldwide recognition for its efforts to promote safety and quality in riding programs and to develop qualified instructors. The CHA clinic is designed to certify riding instructors for group riding lessons.
CHA clinics are not designed to teach individuals to ride or improve riding skills, but to evaluate an individual’s teaching and safety skills; to certify you using the skills and knowledge you already possess. As a clinic participant, you will teach several mounted and unmounted lessons and be required to role-play. You will also evaluate fellow participants and receive feedback from the instructors and the other participants on your teaching sessions.
A camp or lesson facility will find that being certified will drastically improve your horsemanship program. Certification identifies you as someone who is conscious of safety procedures, understands the value of educating students and realizes that enjoyment is necessary to run a great program. Certification can also reduce insurance rates.
Participants can be certified in Western or English riding or in both seats. Certification includes Assistant Instructor, Level 1,2,3,4 or Master Instructor (Level 4 in both seats). Participants must be a minimum of 16 years old to certify as an Assistant Instructor and a minimum of 18 years old to certify as an instructor.
Instructors will share information on such subjects as herd and program management, feeding programs, animal first aid and horse training techniques.
* Clinics will run only if we have a minimum of 6 people registered in a clinic.
