Projects

Birch Bay Ranch is in a constant stage of development to serve our customers and campers better. Throughout the years of operation we have been dedicated to continuously improve ourselves and our facilties. Please check below for past projects, current projects and how you can help us meet our goals. Thanks to all individuals and organizations who have contributed to help Birch Bay Ranch become the best it can be!

Current Projects

Indoor Riding Arena
As of January, 2011, the Indoor Riding Arena is being built! Daily our landscape is changing as we watch first the foundation then the walls and now the trusses being put into place. Summer camp 2011 will be able to ride no matter the weather. The new indoor riding arena will allow riding access year-round and create new opportunities within our horsemanship program!

Tractor
In 2010 our tractor finally decided it had enough and "stopped, short, never to go again". We purchased a new tractor - John Deere 6100D (for those of you who love tractors) - from Martin Farm Equipment. A huge thank you to Martin Farm Equipment for giving us an excellent price! We have three years to pay for the tractor - it'll be officially ours in 2012!

Future Projects

New Cabin Accommodations/Staff Housing
Our current accommodations, while comfortable and cozy, are beginning to show the effects of their age. Each year the cabins require upkeep to maintain their condition. We are currently fundraising to build new cabin accommodations complete with attached washrooms and an upstairs that will house staff. Interested in more details? Call us - we'd love to share!

Barrier-Free Ropes Course
Birch Bay Ranch is known for its exciting, state-of-the-art high obstacle course.  Our dream is that individuals with limitations or disabilities, including those in wheelchairs, would be able to experience the same excitement as everyone else.  In the future, we want to construct an obstacle course that is accessible for these individuals.

Completed Projects

Day-Use Washrooms
Prior to the construction of our Day-Use Washroom facilities, those using the ropes course had to use porta-potties for washrooms.  This great building has been under construction for a long time and we are so happy to report that construction is finally complete!  A big thanks to everyone who donated time, labour and money to this project!

Boys Dorm
The boys dorm has received a face-lift with new doors and windows (thank you to All Weather Windows for their generous donation) and new siding.
