Assistant Riding Lesson Coach

ASSISTANT RIDING LESSON COACH

Purpose:

Birch Bay Ranch exists to provide a natural and nurturing environment where people encounter God and experience positive life change.  The Assistant Riding Lesson Coach will help achieve this purpose through support to the Riding Coaches and riders as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years plus relevant experience
  • Willing to sign Birch Bay Ranch Statement of Faith
  • Able to teach Bible principles through the use of horses
  • Implement CHA standards and processes
  • Patient, cheerful, teachable
  • Works independently and as part of a team
  • Intermediate level horsemanship and able to work with beginner and intermediate riders to help them advance in their horsemanship
  • Knowledge of English and Western disciplines
  • Valid First Aid

Job Duties:

  • Turn in, turn out horses including blanketing when needed
  • Assess possible lameness and bring to coach attention
  • Assist riders with grooming, tacking in both disciplines (able to lift 50+lbs), and untacking
  • Arena setup including setting jumps
  • Keeping arena and facility tidy: this includes putting equipment away properly at end of day, manure picking and raking tie stalls
  • Assisting coach with teaching lessons; able to assist riders independently and quietly as directed by coach
  • Comfortable to be 2nd on trail ride
  • Feeding hay and supplements as directed
  • Able to work outdoors in all temperatures
  • Willing to work with volunteers

Availability:

We require an Assistant Lessons Coach for Sept-April

  • Monday (4-10pm)
  • Tuesday (4-10pm)
  • Thursday (4-10pm)
  • Saturday (8-5pm)

Pay will be hourly
