BBR Statement on Coronavirus/COVID-19

Safety is our number one concern at Birch Bay Ranch and this includes the health and well-being of our campers, guests and staff. With the concerns attached to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 virus we are ensuring our procedures comply with advice from our local, provincial and national health authorities.

At this time BBR is still open and serving groups of less than 50 persons. Most of our activities are outdoors or in an outdoor riding arena where there is plenty of fresh air.

We are reminding everyone to wash their hands often with soap and water. We have made hand sanitizers available in the main Lodge, the indoor arena, as well as in the cabin areas. We are asking that retreat groups screen their guests before coming to BBR and guests who show signs of illness or have traveled within the last 14 days are asked to stay home.

BBR has a standard process for cleaning including consistent handwashing, sanitizing all surfaces including door handles and common “touch” areas. We are committed to increasing the frequency of our cleaning and sanitizing in all areas and will update our procedures as outlined by our local health units.

Cancellation policy for Guest Groups – BBR will waive the “cancellations with less than 60 days notice will forfeit their deposit”. Rather, groups can make decisions right up until their arrival date. Groups that have to cancel because of the Coronavirus will have their deposits transferred to a future booking.

Cancellation policy for Summer Campers – At this time we are planning to run programs this summer and will make a decision on May 29. We will continue to monitor this and change our procedures as recommended. At this time our cancellation policy for summer campers remains the same.

We are committed to doing our part to avoid the spread of this virus. We pray for health and safety for our community, our province and our country.
