What to expect at summer camp

Are you thinking of sending your kids to camp this summer? Or are you a kid or teen who's coming to camp? Here's what you can expect!

This is the schedule for a typical day at camp:

       9:00am                    Breakfast
       10:00am                  Interactive Chapel
       11:00-1:00pm         Activities
       1:00pm                    Lunch
       2:00-4:00pm           Activities
       4:00pm                    Tuck Shop (Candy Store)
       4:30-5:30pm           Activities
       6:00pm                    Supper
       7:00pm                    Wide Game/Cabin Time
       8:00pm                    Campfire
       10:00pm                  Cabin Time
       10:30pm                  Lights Out

When we say "Activities," that means hour-long rotations of horseback riding, ropes course activities (think ziplines and climbing walls), archery and other targets (like Katniss!), adventure activities (fort-building, fire-starting, exploring nature), and one block we just call Mystery, because anything could happen!

During Wide Game/Cabin Time, kids could find themselves doing a special activity with just their cabin group (like swimming in our above-ground pool, making things to decorate their cabins, or playing a special game), or there could be a massive, camp-wide game happening that includes all 100 campers!

Chapels and campfires are fun and interactive times where the whole camp gets together to sing songs, watch skits and play improv games, and listen to a message about God's love.

Summer camp at Birch Bay Ranch is an fun-packed adventure that will probably be the best week of any child or teen's summer! Kids who come to camp often come back year after year, because it is such an awesome time. Read more about our summer camps and what to expect here.
